14/5/2020

we
To Tyler, Molly, Calum, Liam, Fionn, Daniel, Caleb and Dylan

All the staff in St. Joseph's wanted to let you know we will be thinking about you tomorrow on what was to be a very special day for you all. We look forward to celebrating with you in the future.
Stay safe and well.

Saturday the 16th of May 2020
was set to be your First Holy Communion Day.
Together, while staying apart we must pray,
and ask God to keep us safe in every way.
Soon, you will have your big day,
It will be so special in all kinds of ways,
When we are all together to say
“May God bless you on your First Holy Communion Day”.

Message from Fr. Coleman

Dear Friends, and First Holy Communion Boys and Girls of Rochfortbridge,  Dalystown and Milltownpass Parish Primary Schools,

I hope everyone is keeping well and safe  while the children are home from school.

Boys and girls, I know that you will be a little disappointed that we were unable to celebrate your First Holy Communion on these Saturdays of May, as originally planned.   I appreciate how hard you were working preparing for this great occasion with the help of your teachers and your families.  I am disappointed too, because First Holy Communion  is a great celebration not just for you boys and girls,  and your families, but it is also an important day in the life of our parish as well.

When restrictions are lifted and we are told that it is safe for us to do so,  we look forward to celebrating this great day as you welcome Jesus,  who will come to you in Holy Communion for the very first time. We are not in a position  yet to say when that will be,  but please rest assured  that you will have the opportunity to  celebrate your First Holy Communion when it is good for us to gather together again.

Until then, boys and girls,  I ask you and your families to pray together, remembering especially those who are sick,  all who are caring for them,  and all who are working very hard at this time to keep us all safe and well.  Your prayers are also a great way of being close and staying connected to all the family,  friends and people you love,  when you cannot visit them or meet them at the moment.   Maybe,  pray the Prayer to Our Guardian Angel  each day with your family, as a way for  all of us to be together in prayer, even when we cant come together to pray.

"Angel sent by God to guide me, be my light and walk beside me;  be my guardian and protect me;  on the paths of life,  direct me.  Amen."

May God bless all of our boys and girls, and their families, and keep us safe and well in His great love.

Fr William
